The Nationwide Tour will be returning to our area on May 13th through the 16th for the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. Teams comprised of one Pro and one Amateur compete on 3 different courses. I have volunteered as a walking scorer for the last 2 years at Bright's Creek in Mill Spring. It's a great way to participate "inside the ropes" and help one of the area charities. Tryon has had it's own fine arts center (TFAC) for more than 40 years. The theatre and lobby needed updating and the community came through with funds and grants to facilitate the improvements. Given the current economy this really says a lot about the community support for the arts. We are so lucky to have TFAC in our back yard to enjoy both local and national performing arts.
