Visitors to Tryon will find a variety of events to enjoy such as the annual Block House Steeplechase normally held in April. In June the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival comes to town for 2 days of food, music, crafts and fireworks. For resident equestrian enthusiasts there are miles of trails to ride as well as horse shows almost every weekend at FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center) or Harmon Field. For those interested in the arts, the Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) hosts local productions as well as traveling shows. There is also a very active Tryon Arts & Crafts organization where you can take classes in quilting, silversmithing, wood turning and pottery to name just a few. Let’s not forget about the wide variety of sports activities you can participate in from tennis to golf to biking and hiking. For those who prefer to relax and do nothing, there are plenty of beautiful vistas to enjoy.
